Dubai is the land of riches, its prosperity is undoubted. Some time back in my previous posts, I reviewed the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, but for me the whole of Dubai is the modern Atlantis. With in the last decade the city has really excelled in all fields of life and the top of them all is of course the tourism. The whole of the modern city is engineered to attract tourists from around the world.
There are many aspects of this city that make it one of the top places to live in. Except for the agonizing heat in the summers, every thing else makes your eyes pop out. Many peopl out there would argue on this as some people hate urban life, like myself. The tall building, the traffic, the rising population is a head ache for such people. For me its always peaceful and pleasant to live in some place out if the hectic city life. But I guess it is impossible to find a dream place in this real world. Dubai's government feels this human desire and has several plans for providing such dream homes. But mind it nothing is cheap in Dubai.
What actually is cheap, rather free is the Duty Free Shop. One of the greatest feature of Dubai is it being a free port, this thing attracts so many business men from Asian countries to trade here.
But lets not talk about Business and get interested in shopping. Duty Free Shop is as old as the airport itself. I remember that every time I traveled some where from Dubai, I bought a whole lot of goodies right from this place. While Shopping in the Duty Free Shop you don't have to worry about any duties on merchandise. It is the perfect retail shop for the travelers who can take all from this one stop shop.
The Dubai Duty Free has it's outlets spread in all major airports around the U.A.E. After the expansion of terminal 1 in Dubai, the Duty free Shop offered a much newer experience of shopping which is unique in its own manner. Almost every household item, cosmetics,eatables and precious items can be bought here.
Since its start in the year 1983, every year it has made record sales which is expected to rise in the coming years. So next time you visit Dubai, reserve some cash for shopping at this place!
