Mount Kilimanjaro

Mountains are surely one of the greatest wonders of nature. They signify so many things to so many cultures in a variety of different ways. What ever the case may be, one thing they always signify, is beauty. Mountains are beautiful and breath taking. One always feels the urge to climb on top of it and feel the world from a mountains' peak.


There many famous mountains around the world. Some of them are famous for their beauty, while some are famous for their tremendous height. Some mountains are popular among mountaineers and adventureres due to the challenge these mountains offer to them. Of all these different types of mountains, Mount Kilimanjaro has its own reputation.

Mount Kilimanjaro is situated in the North-Eastern Africa and is the tallest peak in whole Africa. This the reason it is so popular. Kilimanjaro is a actually an inactive volcano having and height of 4,600 m from its base. Mount Kilimanjaro is deemed completely inactive and there hasn't been any volcanic activity associated with it to this date.

In fact if you look at it you will find a beautiful high rise mountains covered with milky white glaciers. Mount Kilimanjaro offers such a wonderful view and its surrounding habitat is very diversified. Natural life is simply abundant in the area.

Many people come here for a 'Kilimanjaro safari' to take a closer look at the animals that tread freely in the vastness of the continent and specially this area. In the dictionary of professional Mountain climbers, the summit is technically quite simple. Still the altitude of this beauty, causes certain number of problems. Never the less, this place is a good practice arena for mountaineers.

I've heard that the climb is basically a long hike, the mountain climb for non-mountaineers.
