The Niagara Falls

There are some places in the world whose beauty can really keep you amazed for many days if you witness them up front. The Niagara falls is one such place boasting of its spectacular beauty like no other place on Earth.

No doubt water falls are one of the most best things nature has created and when ever you go and watch the waters running down from a height, you feel as if the water is running through your soul giving it a new refreshing touch.


The Niagara falls are massive waterfalls in the Niagara River. The are not just unique in their beauty but their physical location also makes them really unique. The Niagara falls are situated between the Canadian and the American borders. They are some 27 Km north-west of New York and 120 Km north-east of Toronto.



The Niagara falls is composed of two major sections. One being on the Canadian side and the other on the American side. The majority of the portion of these falls lies within the Canadian borders these falls are called Horseshoe falls.

The American falls lies with in the American border and a small portion of falls also runs along side the American falls these are called Bridal Veil falls. The Niagara falls are a major tourist attraction and a lot of tourist come and visit this spectacular place.


The Niagara falls were formed some 12,000 years ago due to some glacial activity. The Niagara falls on the American side have suffered some loss but experts have worked out ways to preserve this natural wonder and will continue to do so owing to the millions of tourist coming to see the place.

The Niagara falls can be viewed from a variety of places. There are parks near the falls where they can be seen quite easily. You can also have a boat ride in the Niagara river, there are observation towers where you can have some aerial view of the place.



One of the most spectacular place to witness them is the Cave Of Winds which ends up right at the base of the Niagara falls and you can see the American falls from the back side.
