Rivers are one of the most important creations of nature. We all know that 70% of the Earth is covered with water. But it is an hard fact that, out of this 70% only around 1% is fresh water that can be utlilized directly for human consumption.
This fresh water is in the form of Lakes, Rivers and water streams. All this water comes from glaciers and ice caps that melt in the summer and form these water bodies. Out of all these water bodies, rivers are certainly one of the most important water bodies of all.
Rivers are important and many historic cultures have always flourished along side river banks and still a large population of this planet depends on waters from rivers.
Many developing countries are blessed with rivers and most of these countries are agricultural. Their economy highly depends on rivers. Certain developed countries also have large rivers, but they have highly industrial economy, however they some how or other still depend on rivers.
